Stop this music!!……Who got my natural comb? Great album 👍
I play sorry you’re sick for my wife every time she has a cold. Love this album. Biloxi is my favorite of his and worth a listen as well!
I really enjoy this guy’s music, so I looked him up. Turns out he didn’t make the best decisions.
I loved this album back in the day. Lovely to hear a song from it again.
Randomly came across this album and really enjoyed it. When I checked the release date, I couldn’t believe it was from 1982. I don’t know what year I was expecting but it wasn’t the early 1980s. I guess that speaks to the timelessness of the album.
His songs Lost Ones and Sorry You’re Sick both make me cry.
I discovered this guy’s music a few months back and was so excited by it, I started googling him so I could buy his albums, and within minutes I learned of his past jail time on child molestation charges, and when looking into that I came across a thread online from a woman who was talking about how she herself was molested by him when she was a child in the 1970s, she even shared her phone number on a public forum seeking others to talk to about it, and…I just didn’t bother to listen to his music any further.
I see Ted Hawkins I upvote, The Lost Ones is a good one by him as well
Ted Hawkins is so fucking good. His wiki page is a wild ride.
Next Hundred Years blew my mind when I first heard it. Thanks for digging up good memories. I need to find my albums.
That album is gold from start to finish, love it!
This whole album was a revelation. It just appeared out of nowhere after the John Craigie album I was playing led into suggested songs. It also led me to The New Folk Sound of Terry Callier who I’d also never heard of. Only to find Terry Callier played with David Crosby, my all time favourite. So it all went full circle.
Great great album… This guy’s voice is so warm and friendly, with just a tinge of rough… I love it
Love me some Ted Hawkins. There’s a YouTube clip of him playing live in Dublin (I believe?). Incredible, haunting rendition of Bring it On Home to Me.
I love Ted Hawkins..I play a cover of Sorry You’re Sick dedicated to my friend who passed from cancer.
His “Happy Hour” is a fucking masterpiece. And his version of Long as I Can See The Light is better than the original.
Such a versatile and interesting artist but quite problematic as a person. Even apart from the child molestation, he seemed to continually sabotage his career anytime he was approaching success
TED FUCKING HAWKINS ! Love this man’s music so much.
I hope this can bring a little warmth to your day <3
