And now Roger Water is a raving Pro-Russian antisemite. Oh how the tables do turn. It’s hard watching your heroes turn into crotchety old farts (or just go completely batshit). I just keep listening to Meddle and DSOFTM and remember him in his better days.
Get some earplugs Pinnochio
oh those damn boomers….
But which one’s Pink?
Damn never realized Syd was so handsome
’60s **
This has reminded me so much of why I gradually abandoned formal classical music.
PF was certainly an influence on my music. Recall the early stuff. Then nice seats for a new album, 14th row, center. Something about a dark side. Rather riveting. Wish I’d had this interviewer along for the ride!!!
I didn’t find the interview to be confrontational or patronizing.
The interviewer was very direct about his generationally-linked perspective and was asking challenging questions which elicited some interesting thoughts from Waters and Barrett.
That’s a good interview in my book, and I wish contemporary journalists weren’t so obsequious.
Hate to say this. But Syd leaving Floyd was the best thing that ever happened to them. Enter Gilmour
This was a good example of English civility still evident in the 1960s on both sides of the interview. I find it brilliant how both Waters and Barrett quietly answered the interviewer’s questions about the loudness of their music. How things will change 10 years later with the arrival of the Sex Pistols.
Too many notes. Much better if they took some of the notes out.
Roger Waters couldn’t hold his own against Syd Barrett, you really got a sense of the genius gap
Before Sid lost his mind
Remember this generation gap anytime anybody says the word “woke”
What’s the interviewer’s accent ?
“You Dick!” – Spicoli
That is my kind of interview!
I cannot stand modern interviews:
“Rihanna, all of your songs are amazing! Can you tell us your writing process?”
“Bieber, all of your music is iconic and legendary, are you happy?”
“Tay Tay, you are truly the voice of the modern world. Tell us your favorite song!”
I really wish Roger Waters didn’t turn out to be a racist prick.
Roger Waters is a racist who believes the COVID vaccine controls people. Enough said.
The poor guy probably had a heart attack when black sabbath started playing a few years later.
If you came of age in the 60’s everyone over thirty was fair game for verbal target practice
