I feel like we’re gonna get more Half-Life content eventually, but I honestly think everyone at Valve is too scared of the pressure of calling any project “Half-Life 3”
Imagine how good HL3 would be if it were to be as revolutionary as HL2 was when it was released.
Half life will go back to life again when they have something new in playability to show. Alyx was the real HL3, and it was one of the most incredible video games I have ever played.

at first i thought he was like a prepper hoping half life happened irl.
How I felt waiting for final fantasy 7 when the ps3 intro scene was remade. I waited for over 10 years and in the end I never got it since it was a remake with completely new game mechanics and if I remember right it was split into two parts.

I just learned earlier this month that Black Mesa was the HL3 I always wanted, but in HL1 form.
At this point, I’d much rather a talented Dev make a new FPS that would be heavily inspired by HL’s themes.
Inb4 Half-life: Alyx 3 comes out first.

I truly believe there will be more Half Life games. Maybe even Half Life games that continue the main story. But at this point, I’d believe that there will never be a game named “Half Life 3”. It’s too late, too many memes, too much hype. If there’s a Half Life 3 it’s gonna be called “Half Life: Parallels” or some shit.
You can’t play the end of Half Life Alyx and think they’re never gonna continue the story.
I waited my whole life to see Luke Skywalker in a new Star Wars movie.
Then we got The Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker.
There are worse things that can happen with Half-Life 3 than never being released.

I think we will see at least one more side project in the HL series but I seriously doubt there will ever be an official Half Life 3. They must know that it would never live up to the hype after all these years. People would expect it to be a perfect game.
