Pretty sure that white suit is on display at the Hard Rock casino in Hollywood FL. If not that one, definitely one like it from Redbone.
I love those Midnight Special videos. They were all so genuine and raw.
Tony Bellamy was my mom’s first cousin (My second cousin?). I remember hearing of his death on Christmas Day 2009. “Come and Get Your Love” being used at the theme for F IS FOR FAMILY warmed my heart.
That’s not just a banger of a song, but a really great live performance. It’s one thing to be on point in the studio, but when you can jam like on live stage it’s pretty special.
Always one of my favorites to watch.
Believe they’re still the only people of indigenous heritage to have a #1 in the US.
Holy shit I never knew that they were native Americans lmfao!
Good year, I was born in March that year. I’ve loved that song my whole life
Classic jam.
Absolutely tasty.
I miss real rock & roll.
Inspired! Just turned them on 🙂
Check out Rumble on Netflix. It’s a great doc about Native Americans and their influence on American music.
Real McCoy version I like as well .. fun dance music from the 90’s
My mom bought this album in the 70s when we lived in Oklahoma. I have her vinyl LP now. It’s a pretty good album.
I remember watching this after a night out on the Midnight Special when I was 16. I thought it was so cool.
This song has always made me so happy. It was a joy to hear it in GOTG.
We used this as the recessional in our wedding.
Great song
Plains fancy dance.
I had no Idea! Very cool!
Great song. Excellent band!
Such a fun song to play too. If you want a whole venue to sing along, this is a great one to get everyone going.
I wish they bring back shoes like this on TV. I would watch these more than what they have on late night TV today.
Whoever buys the Midnight Special catalogue and puts them back on tv is gonna be a hero and bring about world peace.
This is one of my favorite songs from the ‘70s, and this is the best version of it as far as I’m aware. The single is great, but a little overproduced imo.
Still love this song
F is for Family
I always loved this song back when I was a kid then learned much later about the band that sang it which increased its cool quotient by about a hundred fold.
Even cooler is the guy who does the traditional dance and then straps on a guitar. Best of both worlds right there.
The drummer is a beast!
One of my favorite songs of all time. Growing up, my dad would play this record on repeat. I never got sick of it and I don’t think I ever will.
The introduction was wonderful, thank you for sharing this. I never knew they were Native American! Love this song in a brand new way!
Aho, young warrior.
Which one is Leon?
They tried to take our tongues and our hair, they got electric Indian love ♥️
This made my night!
I am one of those people who first heard this in GOTG. Did not realise they were a Native American band.
Rez dogs used this and it was done really well
Boy sure brings back the memories. If only I could experience it once again.
That’s Kraken hockey, baby!
I liked the song for decades from radio play. I didn’t even know the name of the group before I first saw this video. My favorite part was the intro. It was like he was playing the drums with his feet the timing a was so spot on.
Wow such memories. Happy to learn Redbone was native!
As a person who wasn’t alive when this was released, i never knew this band was comprised of Native American people, it. Is absolutely beautiful. It is a culture that has almost been obliterated and this is beautiful, the intro makes more sense now.
Edit. Im not from the US
I wish the opening hadn’t been scrubbed from every super swing hits of the 70s broadcast. I would have appreciated while growing up knowing this was the voice of a native american and not a white person.
This is so surreal to see a 1970s mash-up of contemporary fashion and traditional Native American garb. Love it!
Love this
