Their US television debut, 30 years ago today
Conan’s first musical guest
I didn’t appreciate Radiohead when they first came out, but they are now in my top 10 bands of all time, with Pink Floyd being #1.
Love me some Radiohead!
Intense
The *first* musical guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Thom Bjork
Good comparison of Creep vs Lana Del Ray’s – Get Free, vs Hollies – The Air That I Breath:
I saw Radiohead at a small venue in Seattle in ’96 and it felt like Thom sung to me for much of a song, they’re such good musicians it’s nuts.
Thom is one of the best people of his generation.
Go watch their music videos. They are a testament to mental health and life in general.
Even when he’s not Radiohead it’s insanely poignant. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCG7qJAP7Qk
No lip synching there. Great band, great song.
Thom had kind of a Tilda Swinton thing going on
