I really like Dragon Age and I really want this to be good. But Netflix has a reputation of adapting games using teams that either don’t play/understand the source material or actively dislike it. Just look at what happened to Dragon’s Dogma.
Looks kinda Cartoon Network-y
Why is the artwork for such a dark and edgy game made in the style of Hunchback of Notre Dame meets Princess Mononoke?
For a game that’s about discrimination towards the mages. It’s art style sure doesn’t say that.
Netflix likes the whole Nickelodeon Last Airbender type art style for their animation. Guess they think it’s more approachable or something.
Pretty sure this is just teasing season five of The Dragon Prince
The only dragon age game I played was Origins. Fucking awesome game all around
Why has no one sown the mouth shut of that saarebas?
It looks vaguely like The Legend of Vox Machina and invincible to me animation-wise but I’d need to see how they move and such
Edit: just saw the trailer a little ways down, it looks exactly like Vox Machina to me animation-wise
That title icon in the middle looks very… Dragon’s Dogma.
This looks awful lol
The art style doesn’t feel very Dragon Age but i’ll definitely give it a try
Is it just me, or is the art…not good?
This looks like they made a generic medieval fantasy cartoon and then slapped a Dragon Age logo on it. A different result on the D20 and this could have been a Baldur’s Gate cartoon.
For a game that was gritty and in a grim world the characters sure look happy and upbeat
I might be surprised, but from the poster, i do not like the art style.
That Qunari looks too happy for her own good. Between DA:2 and DA:I she isn’t to be trusted.
Not so hot take, looks pretty garbage.
What with this awful artstyle, jesus
Ngl it looks way too campy for the kind of themes and tone Dragon Age normally explores.
This is definitely just a response/cash grab attempted based on how great Vox Machina was. I mean don’t get me wrong, I hope it’s awesome, but ya, definitely just Netflix trying to get their own “d&d show”
Oof.
These characters are way too happy to be living in Thedas
Idk why but I’m already disappointed does anyone else feel that way or just me
This looks nothing like Dragon Age…
Nope
Great. I hate it
hmm lame
Dragon Age: Origins was initially presented to us as a dark fantasy setting. Who knows how this series will be but damn has this brand drifted from its roots by the art style.
They took quite a lot of inspiration from the dragon prince for that poster, huh.
I loved vox machina, loved castlevania, loved night are if the wolf, enjoyed Dota, and I love dragon age, so I’m sure I’ll love this one too 🤩🤩
Yay, 8 episodes to binge and then 3 years before another season.
Is Netflix aiming to make an anime out of every game franchise?
