Mega man 2 has killer riffs but I actually think the songs hit peak in mega man X and mega man X 2. Spark Mandrill and launch octopus are a couple standouts

I can’t find it anymore, but there was a YouTube video of someone playing Mega Man 2 that had a metal band playing the music to the entire game, including the stage select screen, award screens, and Wily’s Castle stage screens.
