When was that discovered?
An Egyptian symbol in an Italian restaurant. What’s a matta you!!
Man, archeologists from the future are going to be confused.
Their second restaurant Pol-Pot Pies also went belly up, sadly.
Not enough pizza hieroglyphs. If you’re gonna combine the themes, just full send it dude. Anubis serving pizza or the sun being an oven.
I cannot believe it failed. What goes together better than a cheesy carbohydrate and Egyptology?!
They served the whole food pyramid I bet.
What town? I want to go.
(King Tut!) How’d you ever get so funky? (funky Tut!)
Is this on route 9 by chance? They were building an Egyptian style building there for a long time and I was always curious what it was going to be. Construction appears to have been abandoned.
The British Museum has entered the chat
With a little work, this could be turned into a great Stargate themed restaurant!
Return the pie, or suffer my curse.

Not a pizza restaurant, OP is just making a very good pun. This was supposed to be a Middle Eastern themed restaurant/lounge on Route 9 at the Englishtown/Marlboro/Morganville border, just south of the Union Hill Road intersection. Financing fell through halfway through construction, I believe during the ’07-’08 crash. Built on the site of a puppy-mill pet store called Pet Paradise, most locals pledged never to eat food in such a place, knowing how grimy the pet store was. Especially because they never tore down the pet store’s superstructure – they just re-did the facade and interior to save money. It has now sat abandoned and boarded up for 15 years.

Reminds me of Banjo Kazooie
Saints Row 2 vibes
#OP!
#YOU HAVE BEEN TASKED WITH OBTAINING MORE ARCHEOLOGICAL INFORMATION AT THE PIZZA TUT RESTAURANT
yo fo real tho. There’s no other picture of this place. It’s always erased from existence. More pictures of this place will surely rake in massive amount of karma. Please get more pics for us! I’m super curious
Fun fact; there is a pizza hut that has a killer view of the pyramids of Giza from about a quarter mile away that Redditors have nicknamed Giza Hut.

The lack of pizza hieroglyphics is disappointing
I still prefer Jurassic Fork
You found the Pizzagate. James Spader and Kurt Russell will be right over.
Oldest pizza place in Jersey!
Yep. That guy ate here!
OK what am I missing about this post?.
[Edit] Nvm it is an actual abandoned restaurant in NJ.
I met a Traveller from New Jersey
Who said: Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in a restaurant. Near them, on the pedestal,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed:
And on the pedestal these words appear:
“My name is Ozymandias, king of cooks:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!”
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level cement stretch far away.
Nobody out-pizzas the Tut
No one out-pizzas the tut

Anybody mention the cheesy headline yet?
