Some more info: this was shot about an hour drive north of Tromsø in Norway, using iphone 14 pro and a smartphone gorillapod.
The camera app detects when a tripod is being used and allows night mode to shoot up to 30 seconds which I did here. The phone actually shoots 3 10-second exposures and uses software to combine these and remove heat noise generated by the sensor on long exposures.
Edits were made in the photos app mainly boosting clarity, contrast and saturation.
I’m not an Apple shill, I know plenty of other smartphone makers can shoot the same or better. Just a big photography nerd amazed by how far the tech has come!

It’s ridiculous it took them this long to allow long exposures on hardware that would have easily supported it generations ago?
