It only took countless bullying by the media and constant whining by Embiid to win it over Jokic but congrats I guess?

I should have figured it would be all Embiid hate in a generic sports sub like this lol. Did y all even watch the game where Embiid went head to head with Jokic? It was pure dominance on Embiids end.

Congrats to Embid, but the advanced stats were massively in favor of Jokic, including Defensive Rating, with the sole exception of Usage Rate.

Embid was 1st in scoring, Jokic 18th. That and blocks is pretty much all he had. Jokic averaged more rebounds, assists, and steals.

But Jokic was 3rd in assists – the highest assist average ever for a center. Jokic also had substantial leads in FG% and 3PT%, led the league in triple doubles, and was second in double doubles.

he got it bc he cried for it and joker couldnt give a fuck less even tho he’s obviously the mvp… embiid hasnt done shit in the playoffs and now he’s hurt… 6ers have a winning record without embiid anyways yet nugs have a losing record without joker… coincidence? embiid is just a bigbaby clownchild… not mvp

he reminds me of this guy i used to work with whose sole purpose in life was apparently just to get employee of the month as many times as he could and he’d bitch and moan every time he didnt even if someone else was completely dominating that month he just always felt like he deserved it for some reason

Wonder how many sports anchors are going to cry racism over jokic not winning it…I’m gonna guess zero.

Why are basketball posts always filled with hate in r/sports? And it’s this sport specifically. Let the man enjoy his MVP…

Embiid pushed his body too hard and is now injured. Especially worse since the west is wide open rn. Meanwhile the Nuggets are healthy and up 2-0 on the Suns

So pretty much it was you know what let’s just give the guy the MVP trophy we’ve been teasing him for years

  • discographyA

Amazing how far he’s coming in the NBA considering he grew up playing soccer where he perfected his art of taking dives.

  • fluffhead77

Great! Who gives a shit… Philly is once again going to bottle it and they’ll be in the same place next year, with Embiid whining and crying and being a general little bitch

  • JTuck333

If you had to pick one stat to determine MVP, what would it be? I appreciate one must look at several to determine who they think is the best choice but I am looking for a go-to stat to indicate who should be the MVP.

Some that come to mind are:

    VORP

    Win shares

    WAR

Good for Joel Embid. Nice player who dominates but it’s hard for me to imagine him leading his team to NBA championship.
