Hells ya! That game was dope!!
Don’t you mean 90s kids
You just unlocked memories i haven’t thought about in decades! 😂
Chex Quest was a 90’s game, free in boxes of Chex cereal.
It’s free on steam!!!
Hell yeah! Convinced my mom to buy the cereal for us just for the game. Played the shit out of it and then donated it to the library so they could put it on their 1 computer.
I opened the binaries in a hex editor looking for interesting text strings (hobby of mine when I was 14 or so ), if I recall correctly it was just a weapon mod/skin of DOOM.
Imma just leave this link to the avgn episode of chex quest. Cause that’s how I learned about this game.
First 45 or so Seco ds are an ad.

Probably NSFW if you don’t know who he is.
I’m a 2000s kid and played this
Or AVGN viewers.
No no no I’m 15 and I played that, it was a kid friendly version of doom
Best fps I played till half-life
I have no idea my first thought was waffle man
It’s available here, and kind of better than the CD version (which I still have, coincidentally). This is the site of one of the game artists, where you can find a download of the game (as well as the two subsequent installments), all finished and fixed up. The only thing it’s missing is the opening cinematic video.
This game truly holds a special place in my heart.

I don’t remember this because I only ate Cinamon Toast Crunch, Count Chocula, Captain Crunch… basically all the very bad for your health cerials.
Holyyyyyy foooook
Too bad it wasn’t open sourced.
I played this on a work laptop that State Farm was dumb enough to let me take home.
I’m sorry a only ate the King of Breakfast. Eggo Waffles.
80s?! I was born in 80 and never saw that in my life!
Definitely not ‘just 80s kids’ remembering this one
It was a 90s kids game tho…
It’s pretty amazing that two of my favorite childhood games came in a cereal box, this and Lego Racers.
Why? It came out in 1996 and was remastered in 2020.
90s kids you asshat. Doom with slime.
There is a free remake on steam tho
90s?
And now you can get the remake Chex Quest HD on steam for free and Nintendo switch for $4.99 usd
… this came out in the 90’s. Like mid to late 90’s.
First PC game I ever owned. I loved it so much that I had like eight copies. Actually, I loved Chex so much I got eight copies.
I also enjoyed Kix. I was a weird child.
I wasn’t allowed to play Doom as a kid (managed to play anyway lol) but was allowed to play this, so naturally played the shit out of it! I think I found nearly every secret room in existence! Their cheat code system was pretty clever too, using the designer names 😁
Dont you mean 90s? And it recently became available on steam so..
These games were the most fun I’ve ever had as a kid – and you can never describe the feeling of playing this with your friends/siblings to todays kids
I recommend this game to retro streamers when they ask for ideas of what to play.
Anyone remember the captain crunch video games? Played those a surprising amount.
I was born in 93′ and I fuckin loved that game
