This would make an interesting movie, akin to MY WEEK WITH MARILYN, which was about a reporter’s brief time spent with Marilyn Monroe at the height of her fame, only here the audience surrogate is literally sharing the spotlight. The screenplay would almost write itself.

Imagine what a let down it would be at the end to have to give back your metaphorical borrowed wings and watch those guys soar away to make music history without you, knowing you’ll never taste that level of success again. But hey, at least you had it for a time, however fleeting.

Coulda maybe benefited from a catchy saying, like Mickey “that would be me” Jones did, after sitting in on drums for Dylan’s Australia tour.

That seems like an unnecessarily bleak take on the fact that this guy performed with the most famous band in the world (at that time).

I know plenty of musicians that would have sold their soul to even be on stage for a few seconds, let alone play 8 gigs.

I have lived a long time and never knew this. TIL.

Drummer here…too embarrassed to say what I would have given for that opportunity.
