In theaters November 11:
>Growing up in post-World War II era Arizona, from age seven to eighteen, a young man named Sammy Fabelman discovers a shattering family secret and explores how the power of films can help him see the truth.
Cast:
* Michelle Williams – Leah Fabelman
* Paul Dano – Burt Fabelman
* Gabriel LaBelle – Sammy Fabelman
* Seth Rogen – Benny
* Julia Butters – Anne Fabelman
* David Lynch – John Ford
Sounds fascinating and fantastic cast for this one.
Hopefully looking at war and film coexisting with a fresh perspective. Sounds like it could be a very evocative film.
They should’ve repeated his name a fourth time. The Spielbergmans.
Am i the only one who’s laughing at Seth Rogen’s goofy expression on the top right.
Oh great. Another movie about the importance of movies. Guess it’s better than another superhero flick. I’ll see it for Lynch if he is in fact playing John Ford in it though.
Most excited I’ve been for a Spielberg movie in just about ever.
I think Steven Spielberg might be involved with this project
Spielberg films are usually visually pretty and so is the marketing material… but this is not. It looks horrible from the whole concept to the execution and choice of font. I can’t believe a film about the love of cinema would go with such an ugly poster.
Also maybe let’s put a quotas on the number of Steven Spielbergs
So annoying that the UK has to wait until January 27th
A movie about the movies? This is the easy chalk for Oscar bets, the Academy eats that shit up.
This premiers at TIFF this weekend, should start to see some reviews. I’m also guessing if the poster came out today, the trailer is probably tomorrow.
I just saw Seth Rogen’s stupid face on the poster.
I’m sure this will be just fine, but damn I have a feeling it’s going to be schmaltzy as hell. Let’s be honest, when the Berg is good, he’s really good. But when he’s schmaltzy, he’s balls out schmaltzy.
If this is an Oscar winner, it would be the first movie that Lynch was involved in, in any capacity, to win an Oscar.
I love Rogen’s career arc. He always just seems grateful to be working. I’m happy to see him upgrade to movies like this.
We love movies about movies. Especially movies about how movies can be super cathartic. Looking forward to this one.
Incredibly ugly poster.
Oh yay, a Hollywood movie jacking itself off.
The more I look at this the more I love it. If anyone has it/can make it, I’d love a textless version to use as a wall paper on phone. I don’t have talents to do it myself.
“Just hook it to my veins!”
Excited to see Seth Rogen in something serious again. He killed it as Steve Wozniak and I think if SPIELBERG handpicked him to play his favourite uncle then I’m certain he’ll kill it in this too.
Minus all the extra text at the bottom this is one of my favorite posters I’ve seen in a long time. I would love to frame this
This is the second sepia tinted, stacked cast, nostalgia laden movie celebrating movies from a highly respected veteran director being released this Oscar season.
I hate how much Seth Rogan changed. I miss the old seth
I’m reserving judgment… but this sorta smacks a bit of a Hollywood circlejerk movie ala Hugo. ‘Look what an important a job I am doing…’ says the director.
So this one and *Empire of Light* are this year’s “*Armaggedon* vs. *Deep Impact*”, right? Period piece “movies about movies” from acclaimed directors releasing during awards season. I look forward to both, just amused.
We have Cinema Paradiso at home
Cinema Paradiso at home:
I wonder if it will be something about this.

Spielberg movies always ooze a certain cheerful aesthetic, even his darker films like Munich and Schindler’s List.
Can’t wait for Paul Dano to get beat up again!
Jokes on you, when yall buy a ticket this is just gonna be Spielberg standing in front of the screen making a jerk off motion for two hours
Not the biggest spielberg fan but this poster is a breath of fresh air
The Goldbergs. Done Spielberg style.
