Still not entirely sure who thought this film was a good idea in 2023.

Is Lawrence supposed to be the same age as the boy?

    >/#NoHardFeelings but one summer might not be enough to get him out of his shell… 👀

    >Watch the red band trailer and see Jennifer Lawrence like you’ve never seen her before in No Hard Feelings – exclusively in movie theaters June 23.

    >Jennifer Lawrence produces and stars in No Hard Feelings, a laugh-out-loud, R-rated comedy from director Gene Stupnitsky (Good Boys) and the co-writer of Bad Teacher.

    >Maddie (Lawrence) thinks she’s found the answer to her financial troubles when she discovers an intriguing job listing: wealthy helicopter parents looking for someone to “date” their introverted 19-year-old son, Percy, and bring him out of his shell before he leaves for college. But awkward Percy proves to be more of a challenge than she expected, and time is running out. She has one summer to make him a man or lose it all.

She reminds me of when I thought Jessica Lange was extra hot in the 80s…

    Hmmm.

She’s tanned, in good shape, has an obnoxious personality and dude vibe, that’s perfect for mutual hate-boning..

###Perfect for the people that found Old School, Sex Tape, and other early 2000s R-rated Raunch-Coms hilarious!!!

The film looks interesting in a “quirky rom com” sort of way, and this feels like a more refreshing for role for Jennifer Lawrence who’s mainly associate with more dramatic and action roles.

My main concern is that the premise isn’t really interesting enough to sustain a movie and they seem to be relying heavily on Jennifer Lawrence to generate interest. We already saw this with last year’s Bros. where they coasted on the films premise of a gay rom com but did little to convince audiences on why they should go to the cinemas specifically to see this film as opposed to watching it on VOD or streaming.

And this isn’t even considering the fact the people mainly flock to the cinemas nowadays for more grand epics as opposed to 90 minute rom-coms and comedies which are relegated to streaming.

How far into the movie will jlaw start catching actual feelings – and then there will be a meeting with her and his parents where they say like “we are paying you to date him, yadda yadda” and JLaw will say that she knows that and yadda yadda

But omg turns out he overheard that part! But then he walked away before JLaw clarified that she’s not in it for the car anymore

And then they get married or some shit and leave the ceremony/reception in the car

I still don’t know if this will be any good, but this is a much better trailer than the first Redband they released (which centered itself around that absolutely groan-inducing “Can I touch your wiener?” moment).

As someone who hated the first trailer and who generally dislikes raunchy comedy, I thought this trailer was miles better than the first. I think it helps that a lot of the jokes in this one are not about sex, which is not to say you can’t make sex funny, but the jokes in the previous trailer just felt lazy and cheap. This one feels a lot more chill and less try hard than the first one did. It’s obvious she and the kid end up becoming unlikely friends and probably nothing sexual happens between them and I think that element could actually be interesting.

Also I assume part of her arc is having the good elements of the kid (his desire to help others, his lack of superficiality) rub off on her instead of her turning him into some wild, crazy partier.

Did they film this movie 10 years ago or something? It’s kind of wild how young Lawrence looks in this film
