I read a memoir by rock n roll groupie Pamela Des Barres. She was in a relationship with Don when he met Melanie, who was like 14-15, on set. Melanie was always sweet, according to Pamela, and felt like a little baby sister. And then he eventually left her for Melanie, before the film even ended.
