Just because horrible things happen in a movie doesn’t make it a “horror film.” Horror films use very specific techniques, themes and tropes to explore (usually) transgressive topics. I have to respectfully disagree with the critic on this one… To be clear, I haven’t watched Blonde nor plan to after all the terrible things I’m hearing, it honestly just sounds like an exploitative film, especially so when people have to call it a “horror film” to cover tracks.
