yup, right before microtransactions became a thing..
Almost every year up until Covid hit and a bunch of shit started getting delayed was a good year for gaming.
I could pick out 20 good games that released every single year video games have existed.
im here for guild wars 2, dark siders 2 and diablo 3 lol have yet to get around to anything else on this list
Back in 2012, gamers were whining about how every game was a sequel, nobody does new OC, blah blah. If you want any given year to be great, just wait 10 years.
*Insert any year for gaming and say it was great for maximum upvotes*
Graphic design is my passion
if only we could go back. fuck 2022
Am I missing something? A lot of these games were mediocre or just bad.
Diablo 3 was horrible until Reaper of Souls came out.
ME3 was really short, the combat was a step down from ME2 and there was the whole ending fiasco.
Sleeping Dogs was meh.
Otherwise these are mostly mediocre entries in massive franchises.
Dishonored is probably the best and only original game here.
Edit: Obviously Skyrim and Minecraft were huge but it kinda feels like cheating putting them here because ‘late 2011’. Also, I wouldn’t count Minecraft because people were already playing fully functional alpha/beta versions for a while.
Oh, so we like halo 4 now?
Halo 4? 😂
Pokemon BW2 were the last truly great Pokemon games.
The 2 best 2011-2012 aren’t even listed here imo
You forgot dark souls
Ew
Dishonored was a fun game
Minecraft as a 2011 release is kind of weird. It had been playable for two years at that point. 2011 was just when The End was added.
Most of those games were mediocre at best
Did you really put Diablo 3 in there? It was a mess on release. Took 9 months to be playable.
Sleeping dogs is one of the most underrated games I have played.
This post is garbage.
I mean these are all underwhelming imo
I’ll still take the 1998 lineup
I see like 3 or 4 good games. You could pick any year and do the same but I don’t think 2011-12 was great.
Minecraft isnt from 2011 but ok
I disagree. One of the worst years
This ain’t it chief
There’s a lot of bad stuff there…
– Mass Effect 3 killed the series with its lobotomized story, lore, and the stripping of rpg systems.
– Hitman Absolution was the death of the Hitman series that we knew and now it’s a weird thing.
– Assassin Creed 3 was considered a pretty terrible AC.
– Diablo 3 had the auction market, some pretty significant issues, and for me it was just there for its cinemaitcs.
– Halo 4 was the start of the worst Halo trilogy and the death of Halo for many after 1-3, Reach, and ODST.
How could you forget Torchlight 2. It was released on same day as Borderlands 2 and the server crashed on Day 1.
Just pick a year, get upvotes.
