It’s your turn to feed the alien!
I just watched this the other day. Quentin Tarantino has a podcast called Video Archives and this was discussed on there.
It started out as a student film and they added more content to make it feature length and release it.
Also, it uses the unit of “parsec” before Star Wars did.
Saw it on its initial run. Wonderful.
(Unnamed) “All right, bomb. Prepare to receive new orders.”
(Bomb#20) “You are false data.”
(Unnamed) “Hmmm?”
(Bomb #20) “Therefore I shall ignore you.”
(Unnamed) “Hello — bomb?”
(Bomb #20) “False data can act only as a distraction. Therefore, I shall refuse to perceive.”
(Unnamed) “Hey, bomb?”
(Bomb #20) “The only thing that exists is myself.”
(Unnamed) “Snap out of it, bomb.”
(Bomb#20) “In the beginning, there was darkness. And the darkness was without form, and void.”
(Boiler) “What the hell is he talking about?”
(Bomb#20) “And in addition to the darkness there was also me. And I moved upon the face of the darkness. And I saw that I was alone. Let there be light.”
An all time personal favourite.
It’s like the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers in outer space!
He made it because he thought 2001 ASO was too clean and nice. I thought Bomb had the best character arc in the film.
The best parts of the movie were Sgt. Pinback’s secret video diary entries. “My real name is Bill Froug.”
