love the double neck guitar! epic
This is too cool, thanks for sharing!
FWIW, Zep was scheduled for a return to the US in the fall of 1980. Just before that tour, John Bonham OD’d. To say it was disappointing was a colossal understatement.
Every single face in the crowd, that I could make out, is white. Very few concerts like that anymore. Performers need to do some crossover to get crowds this big. Maybe I am wrong about this. But even I (old white guy) went to a Jaime Foxx concert. He sold out MGM Vegas.
He has one of those guitars, that’s like…two guitars!
Doing the famous pose for the guitar interlude right before Stairway to Heaven’s solo
Where in Oakland was this? Looks more like golden gate park
I got to see a Page and Plant concert back in the mid 90’s in Miami Florida, I think it was called the unleaded tour, it was amazing!!
Tour aborted due to Karac Plants death.
Oakland coliseum “Bill Graham presents”…..
So didn’t the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and The Sex Pistols all preform their final show in the Bay Area? Any other British acts end their final tour with a bay show?
Rock and roll royalty right there.
1985. They reunited during Live Aid. Well John Paul Jones, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant reunited anyway. It was pretty horrible as I recall.
My friend’s Dad saw Led Zeppelin when Page’s drug use was getting bad. About 15 minutes in he passed out onstage, there was a lull for a while and some guy comes out and says “The show is over. There will be no refunds.” After the dad made the mistake of telling my friend this story, for years any time Led Zeppelin came on the radio he would run over and turn it off and announce to his Dad “The show is over. There will be no refunds.”
I was 20 years old and there with my girlfriend, a buddy and his date. Judas Priest opened and if I recall the crowd wasn’t really into them that day, it was Zeppelin we were there for.
