so nice market
I miss Constantinople’s famous markets.
TIL Istanbul is Europe’s largest city.
I was here a few years ago. The indoor aspect and age of it is pretty amazing but in reality it’s like the same 5 shops about 50 times over.
Just made a new life goal for myself. One day I’m going to have a multi-tier candy display in my house just like that one. Just for the whimsy of it.
And the women hiding their hair because the men may rape them.
I walked in a couple months after 9-11 and could see every shop owner internally scream “American!” The aggressive wave of desperate callers caused me to nope out in under 10 seconds. I’m sure it’s a much better tourist experience under normal conditions.
Diebetic nightmare,, 😲, just kidding.
Looks like a great place to spend a few hours exploring 😉
First time I went to an open-air market in the Middle East, I was astounded by the enormous mounds of candy that were on sale. Stacked into colossal pyramids were fuzzy peaches, gummy bears, gummy worms and every other gummy candy I recognized from home.
Not Constantinople?
Somewhere in that pic that ice cream guy is trolling someone.
The candy! Let me fill up a bag.
Looks at picture of Istanbul’s famous market. Sees the same shit found at a mall kiosk anywhere else. “Cool.”
i always wondered about these open markets — do they actually sell enough vs the product going stale? especially for like those spice market things. i do know that sometimes the stuff on the outside of the shop is for show and the real product is inside
Omg the dates!
Pretty sure I’ve been there in assassin’s creed at some point.
