Steam does not make “better” hard cooked eggs. Steam overcomplicates an already easy and simple process.
If you dont know how to boil eggs, be it hard boiled, soft or medium – then thats on you as a shitty cook.
Lmao prepping a fkn ice bath for eggs, really?! 🤣
Holy shit, that’s a lot of salt for one bite
Been cooking eggs everyday for years. Here’s my process for hard boiled eggs. Not saying it’s the best but it’s quick and does the job.
You want the whites cooked to a firm texture (protein will be absorbed better)
but the yolks still runny (hard/firm yolks means the fat oxidized = bad)
Americans, leave eggs in fridge until the water is boiling (keeps center less cooked)
Boil eggs 5.5-6.5 minutes. (experiment to find your preferred length)
Any less the eggs will be a pain to peel. Any more will be overcooked yolks.
Put in bowl of water to cool off eggs fast for peeling and to end the cooking process. Peel and enjoy.
Gonna try this.
I usually put the eggs and cold water on the stove and once it’s boiling I turn it off and cover for 8 to 10 mins.
Instant pot. Put eggs in a basket. I’ve got a silicone one with handles that works great for one dozen eggs. Add one cup of water to pot. Cook 6 minutes high pressure. Manual release then dump in ice water. Perfect every time.
