At least it’s milled, not stamped
AK, your father served in a eastern european country?
Was it bookmarking Ezekiel 23:20
A snapshot in the family album
Daddy, what else did you leave for me?
Daddy, what d’ya leave behind for me?
How old is the photo?
He was in Podhale Rifles, a mountain infantry unit of the Polish Army.
don’t think he’d fit in a Bible.

Things found inside bibles could fuel reddit for years…
Your dad seems like a goober, in the best way

That’s gotta be one big bible…
/low effort
Seriously though, that’s a nice family find! Scan it, and keep the original safe.
Quite recently I found a picture of my great-granddad too! It was while emptying out my Grandmas attic (after she died), and it was actually the first time my Dad had seen his Granddad. We didn’t quite expect the SS uniform though.
I was scrolling and just saw the headline. That last word changed the entire sentence.
Wank bank hidden in a bible? Very clever.

Did a little cleanup job on this photo for fun. 1 is just photoshop dust cleanup, the other is Topaz Photo AI upscaled. Thanks for sharing a cool photo!
He looks like ha has a secret he’s just dying to tell.
He was in Podhale Rifles (Strzelcy podhalańscy). That’s actually the only division of Polish army using non-standard uniforms (their hat and cape), these have their own Ministry of Defense equipment standard numbers just for this one unit.

Cleaned up and colorised with off the shelf app / I’m sure others have access to better tech
That’s a nice Type 3. I’d love to have one in my collection. I’m sure it served him well.

My Great Uncle passed before my Grandma. His picture was in my Grandma’s bible too.
Polish People’s Army!
The AK and the Bible aren’t a common cocktail! A high-faith eastern bloc country like Poland during the late Cold War maybe?
