I’m Australian and just went into the PS app and saw Hotline Miami and Hotline Miami 2 were just added on PS+.
I thought it might have been a mistake but nope, the classification board has the ‘remake’ listed as MA15+: https://www.classification.gov.au/search/title?search=Hotline+miami&field_rating%5B1%5D=1&f%5B0%5D=category%3AC
As far as I can tell the only difference is the screen asking if you want to skip the offending scenes (see above).
Honestly what a farce. Banned for 8 years and then all it took was a disclaimer, the content is literally the same. That’s not a slight on the developer at all – they’re legends, it just shows how cooked and embarrassing this outdated bureaucratic system is.

Yeah I noticed it this morning. The craziest one to me has still gotta be Marc Eckos Getting Up being banned.
I’m a big 70s-80s horror guy and won’t even get started on that, though they eventually turned it around for the most part.

Iirc it’s because there’s no 18+ rating and no rating= effectively banned? Or at least it was like that like 15 years ago as far as I’m aware
Pretty sure this warning is for everyone. At least when I started a new game for the first time, I saw it too and I’m definitely not from Australia. So they changed absolutely nothing to get it approved

Kinda interesting that this game has scenes of sexual violence that are suppose to shock the player.
And then the game goes “Hey wait a fuckin’ second. You just brutally murdered all these people for the last 10 minutes and didn’t have any issues with that!”
It seems like Australia’s quite restrictive when it comes to potentially upsetting content …
I bought it for ps4 as a part of the 1&2 bundle on PSN 2 years ago. No idea if it was a mistake or what, but you better believe I downloaded and installed that sucker straight away.
