After my last post, which inluded Twisted Metal 2, 3, and 4 in it. Most people recommend this to me and I have finally tracked down a copy of it to try for the first time ever.

Played this game religiously on N64 when I was a kid. I still hear the menu music echoing faintly in the depths of my mind.

Absolutely loved it back in the day! Used to play that and another part of the Vigilante Franchise for hundreds of hours on the Nintendo 64 back in the day.

p.s. is there anything like those sort of games in the present day? I think there was something like a remake of some Vigilante game back in the Xbox 360 era if I remember correctly? But overall I could not really think of something like it in the present day. “Crossout” might be the closest I could think of.

That is an all time great. Lots of hidden codes .
After a level starts, you can take the disc out and put in your own CD to play your own music. Then when you finish a level, you have to put the game disc back in.
It’s cumbersome, but it was cool as shit in 1998.

Vigilante 8 2nd Offense is also worth playing.
Omg I loved this game growing up me and my friends would all play it at my house after school.
Childhood, literally. First game that taught me that crazy, epic things can happen in a game… Was about to get obliterated by the Bin truck or the yellow truck, and my friend with the astronaut’s car made a big jump, used his special move while in the air (with the mechanical claws at the front), and landed a big hit on the side of the truck (while still in the air and landing), taking the truck away from my face… I was like “woooow” 🤩

This game is great, but my god 2nd offense is incredibly fun and incredibly stylish. Probably my most played of that genre.

On PS1, once the stage loaded, you could take the game disc out and put a CD in to have your own soundtrack during the fight.

My favorite thing was playing survival as the ufo and hiding in the hoover dam lake, then ramming the absolute shit out of tiny cars that drive by then shooting them with my death ray as they fall from the sky

I dont think i had enough money at the time buy I rented this and played the demo for hours, I always thought it was superior to twisted metal.
Imo V8 was way better than Twisted Metal. Also try V8: Second Offense.
Rogue Trip is one of the few games that made me want to find the soundtrack (Mighty Mighty Bosstones).
