I’ve only been playing for two years, but I’ve known about Lance and his fantastic career for quite some time, not to mention all of the skits and the fun he would get into with this community. Zavala quickly became both an enjoyable character for me and also one who had incredible potential to meme and imitate with friends.
This lightbearer will be missed dearly.

What happened?
When i went to the Tower yesterday, there was this one Hunter giving out hugs to everyone who approached Zavala. It was one of the most touching moments ive ever had in a video game
Had to go talk to him last night while I was playing, two players were standing guard over him. I gave him the old salute emote before talking to him. It was strange to hear the voice now.
It’d look better if everyone lined up along the sides and did the salute emote
Damn. I don’t think I’ve ever seen the entire player base of a game unify like this before.
It was not a one time thing, my friend is playing Destiny 2 these days and you could find a lot of people paying homage there in different instances.

Reminds me of when one of Holdfast players died and the whole community made parades around the statue.
I love this so much, but I can’t help but wonder what Zavala would think seeing thousands of guardians crowding around him over the past 24hrs.

I was so touched when I came into the Tower to show my respects. This scene must have been replayed in 10,000 instances since the news came out.
Man, I remember playing the fuck out of D1. Zavala and Cayde always had such iconic voices that stuck in my head. I just hope his legacy can live on in whatever Bungie does next.

I cried so much last night. Such a hard blow. I had been playing Destiny since the very beginning and always ended up loving my Titan more than the other classes. He had such a unique and comforting voice and I just enjoyed the energy he put into Zavala. That world will never be the same without hum, but I’m glad his character will always be there as a reminder.
