Oh no! Anyway…
Understanding of mods is different in the east, it’s mostly cheating there. We understand mods first and foremost as enhancements to the game
Without cheat engine I can’t increase FOV in RE4 Remake, therefore suffering Motion Sickness. Without mods I would be physically ill from playing games like RE4 or Alan Wake 2.
lol out of touch boomers. Color me shocked. Go for it. Give it a try. We’ll crack it anyway.
I’m not surprised but will be disappointed if they make their games harder to mod. I’ve made a few mods for Monster Hunter World and Rise. Cosmetic stuff that changes outfits. I love the added customizability. I’m of the mind that if you are playing alone and want to tinker by all means go nuts. It’s something that has made games like Skyrim, Fallout and even Breath of the Wild have amazing additional replayability and customization. I hope if they do tamper down on this kind of thing it’ll only be for online play, obviously we don’t want people playing different modded content or cheats when other people can be effected.
Honestly, good for them. I’m sure the weird stripper mods for RE games must’ve been something they didn’t want associated with their games. Especially with the way games media seem to love covering that stuff.
OK? Some devs welcome mods and some don’t. That’s fine. If it matters that much to you, vote with your wallet and support devs who support mods.
They already tried this with Resident Evil 8.
It caused _horrendous_ performance issues and Capcom got raked over the coals for it because not only had both forms of DRM been bypassed (Denuvo isn’t uncrackable; just very difficult) and pirated copies ran _perfecly_. Digital Foundry didn’t explicitly encourage using a pirated copy to fix the performance issues, but it was a better experience for paying customers if they used a cracked exe until Capcom removed their in-house DRM.
Their original release of Resident Evil 4 on PC was utter crap, and was not even playable or worth a shit until the modders fixed it. Then it was better than the then upcoming 360 release.
Capcom should be kissing the modders’ asses for fixing their games in the past.
When the anti cheat(s) are using 68% of your CPU resources and the game uses 20%.
Why gaming companies love to shot themselves in the foot so much?
Yeah, looking at you CA and SEGA.
So how many hours till modders find and distribute a workaround?
