one of many reasons I still keep my midway origins on playstation three
The fact that bullet hell roguelikes have flourished while this hasnt gotten a modern interpretation is truly baffling.
I feel like this is now overdue for a roguelike reboot. There are some great games in the genre, but nothing that quite recaptures this.
I love super smash TV definitely one of my favorites and of course dead ops arcade once CoD came out with that
This was on the XBL arcade many years ago. My friends and I played constantly. Fantastic game, thanks for bringing back memories!
*Smash TV* looked so cool in the arcade. I always wanted to play it, but the game was so hard. After playing it a couple of times, I just stopped trying completely because I knew it was a waste of .50 cents.
Didn’t play this on NES but I specifically remember playing this on the SNES at a friends birthday party and I LOVED this game.
Someone above me nailed it, how sick would this be if they rebooted this title. It’s so perfect and would be a killer coop game to mess with friends
This one is an all time banger. I can’t tell you the amount of money I dumped into this machine.
I still love **Smash TV, & Total Carnage**.
I play both on Xbox, via **Midway Arcade Origins.**
A BRAND NEW VCR!
My cousin had this arcade game in his basement game room. My brother and I still quote this game to this day 25 years later.
This was one of the first games i ever played, thank you for TOTAAALLLL CARNAGE
Heavy Barrel? Here you are. I got just two quarters and a big a$$ Slurpee. Gonna’ make it a three-peat.
We never did get to the Pleasure Dome…
**NO WAAAY**
Total carnage!
“I’d buy that for a dollar”
I brought about 25 bucks in quarters and we beat it. =) My buddy and I beat that game. wooo!
There was a UK gaming magazine that gave away a short story book based on this game on the cover. It was such a good read and then I played the game and obviously it never lived up to the imagination created for me.
I bought the xbox 360 version and played the shit out of it with my brother. Even then never really got the great, could sometimes make it through level one without dying, sometimes to level 3 without a credit, but the game was just an utterly cruel quarter eater.
I’d buy that for a dollar!
“Good luck….you’ll need it!”
I wasn’t expecting to hear anything while browsing Reddit on mute but here we are, I heard that clear as day!
I have a 4 player TMNT Arcade1Up I’m going to convert to a mame machine. This will be one of the first games I get working.
You can use two controllers!
I used to play this with my dad on our old PS1 growing up.
Some great memories bonding with him as a young kid just getting into gaming playing with him.
He passed away a month ago yesterday.
Miss you dad. Thanks for the memories.
I played that game like crazy in the past and still play it on occasion to this day as well as the sequel to it total carnage
this game and total carnage really dont get the love they deserve.
I wish I knew where my copy went, my brother and I played this game a bunch and it was extremely fun.
Yo Smash TV! My buddy and I would play this forever.
I’m surprised they haven’t remade this.
This game is a real hidden gem of the SNES. It really captures the essence of those death pit style movies from the era.
[Play it online now for free.](https://arcadespot.com/game/super-smash-t-v/)
Is this smash TV!? I forgot about this game. One of my favorites to play with others
This game was pretty tough as I recall. I’m sure that there are some folks who could power through it with ease, but I wasn’t one of them.
O M G I’m old and you just reminded me.
Smash TV and Total Carnage were amazing twin stick shooters
That game was hella awesome!
I’ll buy that for a dollar!!
I will randomly say “Big Money, Big Prizes, I love it!” And nobody ever knows what I’m referencing.
It’s not always about the money, Spider-Man, it’s about BIG PRIZES TOO!! I LOVE IT!!
I can hear this image.
I killed many brain cells with my best friend playing this in the arcade on the devils lettuce. Time well spent!
Played this and Uno so much with my online friends when we got bored of halo 2. MRB33FY, Tsunami420, and Nakedn00b I miss yall
Lets drown out…
I loved this in the arcade, especially as it had references to The Running Man and Robocop throughout 😀 (I also loved all the film references in Flashback on the Amiga).
I do wonder what you could do differently to update it for the modern era. Roguelite progression, definitely. Maybe larger play areas and greater variety of enemies/traps/pickups. Rooms accessible from the main menu which show your collected prizes, with gravestones of previous runs in another (like Cannon Fodder’s graves)
