Never noticed they didn’t have cabins above. Must have been fun having these things fall on your head.
That not so subtle racism though….
The mom from the tv series “Leave it to Beaver” obsurdly talking ‘jive’ in this movie, was brilliant casting; funny on top of funny.
How very rude to post this without a video link. 🙁
Incredibly racist scene 🤬🤬🤬😥
“Chump don’t want tha help, chump don’t get tha help.”
Classic
in the german version they speak in a strong bavarian accent instead of jive
“Just hang loose, blood. She gon’ catch you back on the med side.”
Question: How many people would lose their mind, if this movie were made today?
Also: what has changed between now & then?
“Golly”
There’s an interview with Billingsley about this movie. She said after not working for a while, she did this scene and people loved it. She started getting calls again. The part in this movie revived her career for a while.
Also, the 2 black actors in this movie wrote the jive language and pitched it to the Zucker bros and they got the part. The rest is history.
