AvP 2010 might not be considered a considered a great game (according to critics), but by todays standards a game that would let you play 3 separate campaigns in one title, each with its own different playstyle, would probably be hailed as groundbreaking right now (Honorable Mention: RE6)

    Nostalgia.

When this game came out we just played the shit out if it. There was no looking around for a general consensus on if it was good or bad. It was just the next game, we played until we were good at it, like real gamers. You played it…or you didn’t, complaints are for the week.

In all seriousness I have great memories playing this game.

    This game was great IMO.
    The Maine campaign was scary.
Running on the walls as an alien was great.
Bring the hunter as a predator was cool with all the different visions.

I just wish I got to play the multiplayer. When I first got it I loved the campaign’s, but the multiplayer servers were pretty much dead

I think the campaign for me was marred by really bad performance. AvP1 was amazing for it’s time, and so was AvP2. At this point I’d take any AvP game that wasn’t just a band-wagon cash grab.

This game was so fucking good when I first played it. Playing predator was cool as hell, all the different vision modes and weapons and gadgets were awesome. Aliens were fun as hell for their movement and exploration. Humans on the other hand were a different story, suddenly this was a horror game. You would travel until something pinged your radar then you’d have to find a defensive position and hold your ground till things calmed down if they did or else fight and run.

Fuck dude. I absolutely love this game and even the damn pvp multiplayer was genuinely good with some really nice unlockable skins too.

I would pay so much money for a Next-Gen sequel to this.. Its a damn shame that Alien/Predator is such a perfect IP for games, and yet there’s not a single one being made by a Triple A Studio.

Alien Isolation is the best Horror game I’ve played and that damn game needs a sequel too.

Lan party with this was the best. Three completely different play styles thrown into a fight.

My mates and I had the best multiplayer fun with this game.

They were 3 exceptionally short campaigns so it’s not like we got some incredible value here, and the series traditionally *has* a campaign for each race, so it would’ve been a poor move for them to not continue with that.

Also, AVP 2 from 2001 on the PC is significantly better.

Game developers have gotten lazy and greedy.

Diablo Immoral is the perfect example.

I would love to go back to how it was before pay to win games but it’s never going to happen.

    Requisite Elden Ring post.

Well, actually Elden Ring is as long as three full campaigns (if not more), and the build variety means that you can choose from many different playstyles.

Therefore Elden Ring is better than AVP

The cool thing about playing as the Xenomorph was how you had the fishbowl view because they had 180 degree vision.

One of my favorite games on Sega Saturn was “Die Hard Trilogy.”

It also contained 3 games, each with it’s own play style:

One was a 3rd person shooter, the next was a combat driving game, and the last was a first person style shooter that utilized the light gun controller.

Me and my brother played the multi-player all the time, it was nerve wracking playing as marines and the aliens were crazy setting up those ambushes, then the predator was kinda op but still cool.

  • ROBOTN1XON

It was fun playing the different story lines. If I recall, AVP2 on the PC, basically a FPS, also let you play a human, predator, and alien story line

  • Rukasu17

Yes, people shit on re6 but in a time where capcom was going heavy on dlc and microtransactions they gave us 4 big 5-6 hour campaigns with lots of cinematics and mercenaries all in one game. Sure there were dlc but only multiplayer.

  • dbzlucky

I used to play this with my cousin online ALL THE TIME.

Running around as Marines with pistols. Laying traps / ambushes as predators. The infection mode on the pyramid map. GOD what an experience this game was online

  • Happydad1228

I’m sorry but the games never lived up to the movies lol I’ve watched each movie about 509times each I’m a nerd but no the game won’t fill that hole

  • samurai1226

The game was ok, but AvP2 from 2001 was such a superior game. Better campaign, tons of awesome mp modes and a way more unique alien and predator gameplay.

  • N05F3R4TU

Hell yeah, 1up for this one! Nostalgia… Proud 100% finish.

The game was great, with a little more balancing (too easy takedowns, *cough*) and mod support the MP could’ve endured longer.

  • Cindergeist

I loved this game, I played it so much throughout my teen years. Never understood the poor reviews, it was a good game

Had some fun with the multiplayer too.
