I saw something like this in Maine once. I was dating a guy and tldr he had a fight with his family and didn’t feel like going home right away so we took a roadtrip to Maine from NY in the middle of February or March. There was still snow on the beach when we got there, too cold to do anything, everything closed, so we just kinda stared at the ocean from the boardwalk for awhile, walked around the empty beach town for a bit, and drove back home.
About 1-2 miles from his house we got rear-ended and his car totaled but other than that it was a nice pointless little trip.
