16 yo Son of deceased Foo Fighters Drummer Taylor Hawkins plays “There Goes My Hero” at his own fathers memorial concert. And absolutely fucking rocks it.

I didn’t realize he’d left a son behind, that’s so sad.
Well that was fuckin rad
Another good one is Toni Cornell singing “nothing compares to you”
OMG, he absolutely crushed it. That was incredible to watch.
Imagine being 16, your dad just died, you’re going to play at Wembley Stadium in front of 80,000 people after legends from Queen, Rush, Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, and many others just performed
Good luck going back to school on Monday
He fucking nailed it! His dad would be proud, gone way too soon
Any time I hear about this band it’s always Keanu Reeves-esque celebrity adoration. Never about their music lol.
Someone mentioned this yesterday and i completely forgot to go check it out so cheers for that 🙂
Absolutely killed it. And the song is called “My Hero”
Keep Dave Grohl away from this kid.
He literally won rock performance of the year voted on by nothing but peers. I cry every single time I see this.
Dude, he drums with the same energy as his dad. Absolutely slayed it.
Loved seeing Grohl turn around to watch him play.
Goddamn when Dave says you hit the drums hard that means you hit HARD. He wasn’t lying. That kid is putting out some serious Wildthing energy.
goddamn
I think he will be the lead drummer for band when hes like 20
I feel bad for his loss but he’s handling it in the best way anyone possibly could with the best people around him.
He killed it! 👌🏼
He put a lot of emotion into that song and it shows. Amazing performance.
Dammit, who’s cutting onions in here.
Rocks it? Yeah, that is the type of genre they’re playing
They heard that one all the way in heaven.
every time i see this it makes me cry. every time.
ive been playing drums for over 30 years, and while ive heard people tell me they wish they wouldve made Shane the new drummer permanently, theres a lot here that indicates he wouldnt be ready for a full time tour. for one, his age. two, he plays so fucking hard that he started tiring himself out about 45 seconds into the song.
but i say all that to say this. its the most beautiful performance ive ever witnessed. you can feel his anger, his hope, and the love that the rest of the guys have for him all in this one song performance. that kid is murdering those drums, and while prior to this im sure hes had time to cry, time to process the fact that his father is gone etc, this right here is the beginning of his healing. this is mourning through art.
Man that kid’s got it.
