Exact same thing happened to me last week, that’s why I keep a multi emulator and a few games on my phone.
I keep mine at my office so I can get in an occasional round of Tennis
I was giving the game Gunk a try (it’s on Xbox’s Game Pass) and the player character has this box hanging from her neck. It looks like a Gameboy turned sideways.

Muda Kingdom is some of the best Mario music ever written. I still whistle it to myself on a pretty regular basis.
There’s a pretty short list of game songs that *really* make me nostalgic for being an 8 year old kid on a summer afternoon, but this is definitely one of them. Sitting in my parents backyard, trying to find a spot with perfect lighting to see the screen, with my old Gameboy.

The original game boy is so cool. I love the sharp pixels, wish the colour wasn’t puke green, though.
The annoying part was getting the right light to see the screen perfectly!
