Johnny Silverhand mission in CyberPunk with the big ass pistol. I got that game at launch for one s so I was pretty disappointed until I got to that level. That shit was so cool
Halo 2.
When you’re fighting through High Charity and you come into the area full of enemies fighting each other.
Then “Blow Me Away” starts playing and you feel like such a badass.
Getting on top of the sniper nest in TLOU. You start at the bottom and end up there with an unlimited stockpile of ammo and a horde of infected to shoot
Not invincible (quite the opposite) but definitely badass – FO4, first playthrough, walked into Quincy blind, got pinned down in the church. Getting rocked by armor on the overpass, some dick with an RPG in the bell tower, goons encroaching on the church entrance, just ugly, mentally preparing to die, but then inspiration: I realized I had an artillery flare.
Tossed it just beyond the threshold of the door. A volley of white, hot death engulfed the street, the rapture.
Not quite a shootout, but there’s one room full of stormtroopers in Jedi Fallen Order and if you time your parry right, you deflect every shot back and beat them all in seconds
The Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2. I felt like an unstoppable juggernaut with a team of experts to back me up. One of the greatest video game climaxes.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the oil refinery. The platforming blends into an explosion that blends into a cinematic… And then one of my all time gaming highlights as Lara comes out of the water and goes to fucking work

Not exactly a shootout but the first time you get the Blades of Chaos in God of War (2018).
The carnival level from Splinter Cell Blacklist. Picking off the bad guys 1 by 1 without detection… Love that game.
Not exactly a shootout but the Maze section in Control.
The Ashtray Maze section of Control was an amazing power trip. One of my favorite gaming moments from the past few years.
“War Pig” from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. The consistent firefights had me playing that level time after time growing up.
Far Cry 3:
1) Kicking the hornet’s nest mission (burning down the weed plantation)
And
2) When you have to defend the Jeep you’re escaping in with a grenade launcher while your girlfriend drives.
The first Gears of War, when you discover you can saw the enemy in half.
All of Army of Two
Entire Max Payne 3 campaign. Especially near the end when max is getting beat up like crazy but the man keeps going ! Pure badass.
Johnny Silverhand mission in CyberPunk with the big ass pistol. I got that game at launch for one s so I was pretty disappointed until I got to that level. That shit was so cool
Titanfall 2 when you get the SERE Kit
Going Loud at the end of Modern Warfare 2.
God, that was a perfect tune to blast your way through those bastards.
When you get the super gravity gun in Half Life 2.
The first Contra while using the spread gun.
Cyberpunk 2077. Johnny Silverhand first POV at Arasaka Tower.
RDR2: The revolution in Guarma running the hill to rescue hostages at the port and escaping the island. Felt like the Angel of Death.
Titanfall 2 campaign when you have the gun which autolocks head shots while you need for speed wall run. Fun as hell.
Halo 2.
When you’re fighting through High Charity and you come into the area full of enemies fighting each other.
Then “Blow Me Away” starts playing and you feel like such a badass.
Ngl that mission as Johnny silverhand storming asaka felt great
Braithwaite Manor massacre
The Minutemen send their regards.
About the second or third encounter in the first FEAR, holy shit that game was ahead of it’s time
Not quite a shootout, but there’s one room full of stormtroopers in Jedi Fallen Order and if you time your parry right, you deflect every shot back and beat them all in seconds
Doom eternal. Every single area. I mean the games entire premise is your effectively and invincible legend.
The shootout at Braithwaite Manor in RDR2.
Walking up the driveway of the manor at night, all in a line, felt like the most badass western moment.
Also Dutch’s line before he starts the shootout:
“If you ain’t gonna be civilized about this…”
So cool.
The Suicide Mission in Mass Effect 2. I felt like an unstoppable juggernaut with a team of experts to back me up. One of the greatest video game climaxes.
Parachuting into the Penthouse in Saints Row 3 with Kayne West’s “Power” blaring.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider, the oil refinery. The platforming blends into an explosion that blends into a cinematic… And then one of my all time gaming highlights as Lara comes out of the water and goes to fucking work
