I actually got this game all updated and installed. Just haven’t gotten to playing it yet. Pretty cool deal since I got it in that Arkane bundle with Dishonored.
Holy crap, that crazy. I just bought this for a friend for his birthday. We were just talking about how I felt it was well received and everyone I know who played it loved it and yet it never seem to get the full attention I felt it deserved. I adore prey. Such a wonderful game.
It kinda blows my mind that despite having amazing combat, good set of characters, being based on one of the largest and most known IP’s in the world, and releasing around the time of Arcane’s monumental hype, The Ruined King was hardly talked about. Like at all. This game is phenomenal and people just kinda let it slide without much attention. I think I would have understood if it came out several months ago or something and only League fans had any interest but this game came out at the same time as Arcane, which became immensely popular.
The issue with Prey is that it was surrounded with doubt because they had scrapped their original idea and remade the entire thing and made it completely different. The previous idea even had a small teaser trailer which looked quite disappointing and nothing like Prey 1. So the public was already doubtful the reimagination would even be good, and that’s why the launch was nothing spectacular. It ended up being a great title in the end.
Life is Strange: True Colors. Not everyone’s cup of tea, absolutely. But for me, personally, the story was such a bomb of emotions that it was probably my favourite game of 2021.
It shouldn’t have been called “Prey.” A lot of people loved the Native American-super powered Tommy and his girl from the ’06 Prey, and were pretty annoyed that this new one completely abandoned the original. Myself included.
Kinda like Season of the Witch being a Halloween movie. Doesn’t matter that it’s one of the best films in the franchise, it still shouldn’t have been called “Halloween.”
It’s an indie game that I love but Phoenotopia Awakening deserves so much more attention than it got. Gorgeous game with an awesome world and characters, loved exploring it.
I’ll always say Gravity Rush. Though I don’t know if it necessarily deserved it at launch, since it was a Vita exclusive and attention isn’t going to help that out. But maybe when it was remastered/rereleased/whatever for the PS3. I don’t know exactly why I love it so much, but it’s very charming and had unique gameplay, it deserves better than to be a Sony “b team” franchise. I hope they do more with it in the future.
I never got to play this, but I read about it in gameinformer. It sounds really cool.
What about og prey from the mid 2000s that was supposed to receive a sequel but nothing happened?

Chronicles of Riddick
I’ve never heard of the game what. Is it fun?
Arkham Knight
Prey was so much fun to play. Loved that game.

Spec Ops: The Line,
Portal,
A Plague Tale
ELEX
The Golden Sun Games
I’ll say I got really annoyed at enemies constantly respawning and not giving me a second to look around, but maybe I need to revisit it.

Omg Prey was so good. I want a sequel.

Mad rat dead. One of the best soundtracks I’ve heard

Battleborn was such a good game imo, and I’m sad that it didn’t get much attention and was overshadowed by Overwatch.
Control, it has an incredible story line with dense lore, and some of the best and most unique combat experiences I’ve ever player
Titanfall 2 that is all I’m gonna say
The evil within (either one)
Alice Madness Returns
The original Prey

Currently playing it. Highly recommend it. Especially if you love arkane, feels like dishonored but, in space.
The original Prey definitely deserved more attention. This does not even deserve the name.
This (Prey). One of my favorite games ever..! 😍

Prey and mooncrash are the kings of underrated and loved years later.
