Sonic 2, bar none.
Dynamite heady gives me ptsd. I’ll never forget the level that was like a stage from a play and I always fucking died
So many memories of this but I don’t remember the soundtrack. I had more fun on this than sonic.
I really dug the ost of 7th dragon code on 3DS. SMT IV is close as Is Nocturne.
Rocket knight/sparkster were good (Genesis and SNES).
A little further in the future hands down Final Fantasy Tactics, I still rock out to that soundtrack.
I’ll just say the whole Genesis era Sonic trilogy+Knuckles was just full of memorable music. I perk up and feel like I’m experiencing an ancestral memory when I hear the World 1-1 tune from Super Mario Bros. and the haunting opening screen music from the first Zelda still resonates with me to this day.
But like, from end to end, that series had so many bangers. Green Hill Zone, Ice Cap Zone, Chemical Plant Zone, Flying Battery Zone, it just goes on and on.
I would put… Donkey Kong Country series up there, though. It’s so different from Sonic’s high energy feel, but no less amazing.
Nights into dreams

I just have a soft spot for Treasure developed games from that time period. Dynamite Heady and Gunstar Heroes are a yearly play for me.
Tony Hawk
Minecraft and DOOM
Tribes 2
Rock n Roll Racing.
The original Phoenix Wright trilogy
Buck bumble
U.N. Squadron (AKA Area 88). Every track was an absolute banger, especially Front Line Base and The Minks.
Secret of Mana and Terranigma on SNES are two of the best soundtracks in existence.
Sonic 2, Zaxxon’s Motherbase 2000, Subterrania
Motherfucking Zoop.
This post is an hour old and I have to be the one to say Mega Man 2?
I can’t remember.
SoR 2. Still listen to it to this day.
A lot of tough choices but I’ll throw in Herzog Zwei
Battletoads.
Holy shit Lego City Undercover, especially that free run song.
Megaman 2.
Blazing Star
Ljn video art
Twisted Metal
battletoads vs double dragon.
That soundtrack SLAPS

Also, Rush 2049
Toejam and Earl
When you go around school telling everyone that your mom gave you Dynamite Headdy..
