I kid you not, this is exactly how I learned the way out of the word 8 fortress. I had it when I started the game and held on until I made it there. I owe you one, Apple Jacks! I hate that level so much!
I know itβs not gaming, but similarly, when Ghostbusters 2 came out, I remember begging my mom to buy a special box of Cheerios that had a small vinyl record attached to the box that had Harold Ramis (as Egon) asking trivia questions about the movie that you could write the correct answers on a post card and get entered for a drawing or something.
Crazy to think that only seven years later we were getting CDs in Chex that modded Doom into a game for kids.

Fat free cereal? What’s next? Sugar free oil?
There was also that hotline you could call and some person would talk you through what you needed to do.
I had the generic cereals.
But also the Nintendo Power annual subscription. So it all worked out.
Thatβs cute
I used to eat Hotwheels cereal for the free car.
Love this I still got like the first hundred nintendo powers.
I do not remember this. Huh.
Love it!
Those are so cool! Thanks for sharing
This might be one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen
Nintendo power π

Edit: of course itβs on YouTube! And really doesnβt sound like Harold Ramis: https://youtu.be/Z9An8tprxeU?si=t6bwExvyamDSRYGa
