One of my favourite cities in the world
SO cool! As close as we’ll get to traveling in a time machine!
So damn cool
So beautiful before the NAZI’s turned it into an absolute nightmare. Each area became a ghetto for survivors and refugees. I’m glad that’s all history now and hope nobody has to go through it again.
Poland has long been an incredibly beautiful country. BTW, did anyone else notice the African fellow in that first clip? I know Poland today has a small ethnic African population, but did they really have them that early? It’s surprising since the Poles never really practiced colonialism.
Wonder how many of these poor souls lost their lives just a few years later. Sad.
A fascinating view of Warsaw in the years before the invasion and war. It is an interesting glimpse into the pulse of the city at the time.
Imagine into the far future where a film similar to this, about us is being viewed by future redditors! I wonder what their reactions would be!?

Remember trumpers….there was good people on both sides.
Looks like some late stage Red Dead Redemption/peaky blinders crossover
Where did you get this clip? Can you tell me the source please?
I’m sure nobody had a thought that they would all shortly be defending into a massive world conflict… makes you wonder about present times
What place does the film “The Pianist” takes place?
Song at the end???
Just a few years later their country was waxed. Didn’t stand a chance sitting between Germany and Russia.
My God, how much they took and destroyed from those poor people and from the world
Kept an eye open for my Opa!
I hate nazis.
“ITS”, FFS
Russia. Been destroying since 1917.
This is neat
shit was already getting bad. there was a regime change before the nazis came through, and they were hardline nationalists who encouraged pogroms against the jews. my grandmother, her mother and her sister got out in the early thirties. she was jewish. i wouldn’t be here if they hadn’t.
Never thought of it before but were black people in the concentration camps as well?
Was this guy the only black in Warsaw in the 1930s?
I wonder if more Jews died because the danger creeped up and humans are like frogs and just ignore things until it’s too late. Plenty because of the it’s my home mentality.
Wow I thought Poland was just an economic black hole but I guess everything was destroyed
