Feel like too often SNL gets itself bogged down in the straight man characters just standing around and commenting on the weirdness so keeping them separate (and then tying them together) was great.
After watching the video, it’s clear that the directing was excellent and truly captured the essence of the scene. At first, I thought it was a Waffle House commercial, but it turned out to be something much more powerful. I hope Ego’s OK
Post production workers that make these might be striking soon. More power to them, they make great stuff and deserve fair treatment.

Paid advertisements masquerading as SNL skits is getting pretty egregious, and the immediate post here for that specific clip to get more value out of that ad is a problem the mods here need to solve.
We should ban clips that include paid product placements. In 2016 SNL added paid sponsorships, but [promised not to do actual product placement](https://www.latimes.com/entertainment/envelope/cotown/la-et-ct-nbc-cuts-commercials-saturday-night-live-20160425-story.html). In 2017, they started selling [six “branded pods” a season](https://adage.com/article/media/snl-air-fewer-commercials-season/303697). Now there is a product placement in at least two sketches a night, which are then reposted here. And it’s not even a funny sketch, it’s just a long ad. But at least they got “Waffle House” onto reddit…
Newsflash to Lorne and the rest of corporate America: we don’t want to watch egregious amounts of ads. The solution to that was not to make your shows filled with ads directly in the content as “native advertising”. Instead of dealing with it, we just stop watching your shows and create automatic filters for “SNL” in tools like reddit enhancement suite. Then you stuff in more adds to compensate, until all you have left is an advertising shell and no audience, which is when you get canceled.
I have zero interest to watch SNL live because I’m not going to watch ad filled sketches. They’re signing their own death warrant.
*lol, y’all keep watching ads if that’s the sketch comedy world you want to live in, commercial breaks separate the two and are better than “native advertising.” I’m filtering SNL out of Reddit for myself at least; recommend doing the same
I love Waffle House, but this 100% accurate.
Waffle House was the first time a member of the wait staff told me to go fuck myself, and I wasn’t even mad.
This was bizarrely hilarious.
One thing losing top tier cast members hasn’t hurt are these pre-recorded skits. These things are great.
This is like when my girlfriend is trying to have a serious conversation with me while I’m trying to watch TV.

I love Waffle House. Stop there every time we’re driving south. We often drive overnight and this is only mildly exaggerated.
Was eating sober up breakfast at a Waffle House at 3am in New Orleans. A bonkers homeless man was sitting in the corner every 5-10min he would stand up and scream “I’ll kill you all!!!!! I’ll stab your eyes!!! Etc” the tired ass staff would turn to him and say “Willy, stop acting up.” He would immediately sit and say, “I’m very sorry”

Dude just gonna leave without his dog like that? Not cool.
This was on my Youtube feed when I woke up this morning.
It gave me a real hankering for Waffle House, which my SO is getting dressed right now for us to go to.
I don’t think that was the goal of the sketch, but, all’s well that ends well.
I love the juxtaposition between sensitive relationship conversation outside and people going crazy inside. it turnout out she’s dating one of the wild men now was a great twist – maybe that’s like romcom plots of ditching the sensible guy for the rogue
Not accurate at all…my Waffle House only had ONE instance of a fight with a girls shirt being ripped off and her being tased by the police.
Nothing like snl region locking their videos. Because the entire world is america, right???
Favorite skit of the night
As a native us southerner, this accurately describes waffle house interactions.
Jenny really struggled with the word “waffle” at the beginning
Waffoo house
I kept waiting for the chair throw and deflection.
