That was how most men posed for pictures back in those days for some reason.
Now, you probably couldn’t even get their attention because they’d be on their phone with their Airpods in.
Looks like as welcoming as a internment camp office
I’ve stayed there lots of times. It oozes history, is right downtown and it’s relatively inexpensive. Highly recommended.
Mister Got To Go was one of my kid’s favourite books growing up. We finally stayed at the Sylvia for a week this summer and loved it. Fantastic location, great staff, nice rooms. No cat. 🙁
Looks like a Wes Anderson movie!
why do they look like cardboard cutouts
You’ve always been the caretaker Mr Torrance
Hey look, if I’m having my organs harvested I’d like attentive staff that will at least bring me a mint or something
Is this a Stanley Kubrick movie?
/s
If you told me one of the men in this photo was deceased, I wouldn’t be able to tell you which one but I would totally believe you
Here’s Johnny !!!!!

The guy behind on the bars on the left hand side looks like this neighbor you have who does some really weird stuff and then just disappears one day and you’re looking through some photos of hotel from 90 years ago and that same fucking neighbor is there staring into your soul
The guy in the window on the right looks like Edgar Allen Poe, ready to offer full guest amenities if he’d only touch the screen.
I’m looking at that and I’m like wait I recognize that? Then realized I took a photo of that hotel a few years ago. So here is a photo of the hotel as it looks outside in the 2010s.

I would feel so threatened.
Most fun hotel to stay at in Vancouver
Hotel carpet design hasn’t changed a bit
Papers please
My wife and I stayed there several years ago. Beautiful hotel in an amazing location. Rickety elevators. But would go back in a heartbeat.

Stay with us. Forever.

They all look like serial killers.
That’s cool. My husband and I have stayed there. It was a really cool area. We biked around the entire peninsula there. Also went to the INXS concert downtown on that trip. Always loved the Vancouver area. I grew up in Bellingham, WA very close to the border and went up there a lot.
Why do you want to work at the Brand Budapest?!
I stayed here in 2003, great rate compared to anything else around. Rooms were well furnished, restaurant had good food.
“Telephone call for Mr. Herman”
I don’t know about this place…looks like one could check in but will never be able to check out.
