Edit: Ill point out this got downvotes instead of replies countering what I said. Ludwig is really good at building parasocial relationships with his viewers I guess
Before sponsored gambling streams , Trainwrecks was addicted to csgo case opening which is literally the same as gambling, but we ignore lootboxes that are more accessible to kids .
Ludwig says he has strong moral principals or is afraid to gamble but opened this first ever case recently https://youtu.be/i9s4vzO6C5U . Got a knife.
Its almost for certain that this single clip made at least some of his viewers buy csgo cases (if he can get that luck on his first case I can get it within 10), but I guess its ok because its in a video game? https://youtu.be/EVGamb7TMPk?list=PLLGT0cEMIAzcd5XagsMwz22-NFPmToKIP&t=7506 here is the stream where he opens many many cases,
Gambling is addictive but most of these people are just virtue signaling and don’t actually give a damn about the repercussions of someone streaming or the solution wouldn’t be “just don’t allow sponsored gambling streams” which doesn’t stop the negative outcomes you are arguing against..
He’s not saying ban gambling streams entirely, he’s saying ban gambling streams where the streamer is sponsored by the casino. I 100% agree, it’s not gambling if you are playing without any risk – if you want to gamble it should be portrayed the same way it is for the everyday gambler – usually miserable.
Twitch doesn’t need to do anything, gambling is extremely profitable and unless something happens that drastically hurts their image, they have no plans on stopping it no matter the public outcry.
watching someone pull a digital lever as their brain is being dry humped by a gambling algorithm has gotta be one of the bleakest ways to spend your time. I feel bad that the streamers have succumbed to this and that tens of thousands of their watchers are having their brains sandblasted into the smoothest orbs imaginable.
Google saya xQc makes $384,000 a month. He ‘only’ lost what hes has earned in less than 5 months. I know people that have lost decades of their earnings. People who makes near minimum wage and lost millions.
Look at it as a teaching moment for morons. Smart people don’t watch streamers and quit their day jobs thinking that is such a easier way to make money, they should go ahead and stream too and become millionaires. Stupid gonna stupid.
Im so tired of gambling and gambling ads. Ever since they opened stuff up it’s been a non stop bombardment. There should just be some more restrictions on who sees the adds, when, and how often at the very least.
When it comes to the gambling meta, all I see are bitter 35 year olds whining that their favorite e-celebrity and influencer is making (more) free money by influencing “children”, even though everyone knows they’re really influencing other bitter 35 year olds.
section 230 needs to be unwound.
Online gambling is legal in so many states
Adults making adult choices
Correction: I was wrong its only technically legal ” without restrictions ” in 6 states
If your gambling online in another state your the only one who can get in trouble
First skin gambling, now that

Yeah let’s start banning things that are completely legal. Brilliant idea!

Just ban crypto-casino’s from twitch, Roobet, Stake, Gamdom etc.
xqc is just getting ready to by 12 monitors 50 consoles for his friends
If twitch won’t ban strippers from a platform with mostly children for users, then I doubt they’ll ban gambling.
Twitch doesn’t need to do anything, gambling is extremely profitable and unless something happens that drastically hurts their image, they have no plans on stopping it no matter the public outcry.
Let them learn early when they have nothing to lose.

Twitch has the most hypocritical, greedy management out there, they’re not gonna stop it.

People still blaming others for their personal decisions, lol.
