For perspective, NFL active roster is 1,696 players.
NHL is 620.
NBA is 450.
MLB is 1,026 (regular season ended early October).
Aren’t we in the MLB offseason?

Here’s some rather important contextual info:
* NFL allows 53 players per team and has 32 teams; 1,696 total players
* NHL allows 20 players per team and has 32 teams; 640 total players
* NBA allows 15 players per team and has 30 teams; 450 total players
* MLB isn’t doing anything due to a strike
It’s almost like the league with the most players is going to have the most cases. However percentage-wise the NBA is doing the best (6%) and the NHL the worst (10%) with the NFL just above the NBA (6.1%).
There are more than 27 in the nba, almost double that
MLS still gets no respect
NBA is currently up to 60 ppl in protocol

This is a great example of how just basic statistics can tell a misleading story.
The MLB is in its offseason and currently on strike. The NFL has a substantially higher number of players than the NHL or NBA – like 2x-3x as many.
