7 of the 12 episodes are on youtube
one of the coolest sci-fi stories ever, it’s based on a series of books, if you like sci-fi you should give this a try
*edit correction
*edit2 just found episodes 8 and 9 on dailymotion.com
I didn’t know they already made these into a show. I was putting off reading until show so many comparable.
I’ve been watching this off and on and enjoying it. The budget is fairly low and some of the pacing feels weird >!did we need a whole episode of him with the camera and the countdown?!< but it has the tone of the books down IMO. Well cast and even if the CGI is wonky they’re mainly using it to show scientific principles and they work on that level.
I’m a little concerned the Netflix version will heavily change the books. But this is sticking to it accurately from what I can tell.
I didn’t realize at all that there was a show. All I knew of was that mediocre at the very best movie that came out a few years ago on Netflix.
I really wonder how well this story can be told in anything else than written form.
Edit: sorry for my mix up, the movie I thought of was The Wandering Earth.
Seems like some people got pissed about it
I am thoroughly enjoying this show and just ordered the book. There will be 30 episodes, and one ep a day is posted except on Saturdays. Episode 13 was just posted an hour ago. If you subscribe to TenCent, then you can watch each new episode when it posts. Otherwise, you can watch four new episodes a week.
The show is in Chinese with English subtitles.
I saw some complaints that the pacing is slow, but I don’t find it to be so.
As u/Scotsmania said it is available on Viki with subtitles in different languages in SD, and HD if you have a premium account.
It is also available in the wild, BTN, etc, etc..
Just so everyone is clear, this is the version made by Tencent in China, NOT the version that’s currently being made by Netflix. That one doesn’t arrive until some time late this year.
Hope this doesn’t have communist propaganda like most other Chinese mainland tv shows
What’s the plot?
So this just the first novel and not an adaption of the entire trilogy, I take it?
I’m on episode 6 of this right now. Captain Shi is hilarious, he steals every scene he’s in. I can feel the love that goes into the production of each scene. It’ll be interesting to see how soulless and derivative from the source material Netflix makes their adaptation. I’m predicting: Wang Miao will be changed to a bumbling inept father type whose wife and daughter figures out that the timecodes in his photos are a countdown.
This isn’t available on my country. Is there another way to watch it?
Edit: nvm. it’s available on wetv
