Reverse parking is mandatory in lots of company car parks I attend and I’ve noticed I’m getting poorer at it the older I get, even though I almost always reverse park anyway. (I’ve sen me thinking it’s fine, getting out of the car, looking back and thinking *”WTF is that abomination of an effort?”* and having to get back in and square it up. (I blame bad wing mirrors on this car.) đ)

Unpopular opinion: thereâs almost no point in backing in to spaces. Itâs easier to pivot in tight spots, but itâs just easy to shoot past the spot a bit and essentially do a 3-point turn, and this usually doesnât even need to be done.
The only exception I can see is if youâre backing into a driveway directly on a busy road (when traffic is light) to avoid having to back into heavy traffic when you leave.
Edit: Just saw someone say itâs mandatory in some parking lots. Donât know why, but either way, thatâs obviously an exception as well.

Don’t understand what’s so funny about this. Reverse and pull through parking are the safest types of parking. A lot of companies that have fleets require it.

My girlfriend canât parallel park or reverse into a spot worth a damn but we found an alternate easy fix that works every time.

In the Honda at least 2-3 times a year. Then I have to restart my brain and go âoh yeahâ and its fine. I donât generally have to reverse to park ever so, when it happens I brain fart for a sec.
Some say heâs still backing in to this day.

I have this same car model. Itâs a 2002 Honda Civic, so itâs 21 years old. No backup camera, low sided cup holders so drinks spill easily and the passenger cup holder is right in front of the cigarette lighter so itâs a challenge to plug in a phone charger.
Not having a backup camera makes parking backwards difficult. I would probably be half in the next parking spot I were trying this, so Iâm actually impressed by this guyâs parking skills.
Every car after 2014 has manadatory back up cameras, so things like this should be a thing of the past in the next few years.

I used to have an office on the 6th floor of a building. We had a little smokers landing/outside stairs that overlooked an alley with about 10 parallel parking spots. We had cards made to score the parking and would hold them up and cheer for people when they got out of their cars. We saw some crazy bad parking but every now and then someone would roll in with a 40 foot land yacht and slip it in one shot.
I really fucking hate people that reverse park. They take 5 minutes for absolutely no particular reason.

I will never understand backing up into a spot, it’s SOO much easier to just pull into the spot and backup to pull out when you leave. Tell me I’m wrong
