The two spinoff introduction episodes on The Rookie were a couple of the show’s weakest. I love The Rookie and hope it can maintain its overall quality, but I won’t be checking this out.
She might be funny, but I don’t see it lasting long.
I really like The Rookie – but since I am just now finishing S2 – it will be a bit before I can get to the spinoff. That being said, I have watched Niecy Nash on multiple shows, and she is a very good actor.

I like The Rookie and Niecy Nash so I’ll give it a shot. I’m not sure how well the premise will translate to the FBI, though. The backdoor pilot episodes were OK, not great, but I’m not sure any backdoor pilot is great right from the start.
With Niecy Nash on board I’m hoping they lean more into her strengths and play up the comedy side. I’m a sucker for comedic procedurals with quirky protagonists (Psych, Monk, Limitless, etc.).
