Thank you for posting this! I haven’t thought about The Popguns in years; their sound went terribly overlooked in a sea of other Jangle Pop-Rock bands of the era. But I always thought there was something special about them.
I always wondered if their music might have had a noticeable influence on the J-Rock / Visual Kei bands that emerged in Japan in the early 1990s.
Love them! I miss this era so much, the videos were often so great.
Humourously, I always wondered as a kid how bands on beaches and hilltops got such a big sound without patches, amps and electricity… and just a small bit of drum kit. Like ‘Simple Minds’ ‘Alive and Kicking video where they’re standing in a cliff edge. Suspension of disbelief ;-).
