The greatest Sci-Fi movie you haven’t seen yet

Aelita Queen of Mars is a fascinating 1924 Russian silent movie directed by Yakov Protazanov about an engineer who builds a spaceship and flies to Mars to be with the queen.

I did see METROPOLIS (also a silent film) way back when. This was by Fritz Lang.

I haven’t seen Tarkovsky’s movies (in particular, SOLARIS). So I hear that is great.

I saw it! Worth watching if you’ve already seen other silent classics like Nosferatu, The Cabinet of Dr Caligari, Cabiria, The Thief of Bagdad, etc.

There is a bit of revolutionary propaganda in it, but that’s to be expected I suppose.
