Demon Donuts
Cigarettes and coffee was always a popular combination, so krispy kreme started at the heart of Winston / Salem cigarettes to rebalance that equation, as an early treatment to nicotine addiction.
Numerous later studies unfortunately found that any lung cancer deaths prevented was more than made up from obesity deaths.
Why would they miss that opportunity to make a 3d donut from that spare wheel/cover.

Wow, I always assumed Krispy Kremes was a more recent business. Was it always the same formula? I only like Krispy Kremes because they aren’t cake donuts.
Now NC State has the Krispy Kreme Challenge:
Each year, runners brave the brisk winter weather to embark on a quest of guts, glory and glaze: the Krispy Kreme Challenge.
The student-run event dares participants to **dash two and a half miles** from the Belltower to the nearest Krispy Kreme, **eat 12 doughnuts** and then — with stomachs bursting — finish with another **two-and-a-half-mile run** back to their starting point. All in **one hour**.
Wonder if they were good back then. They certainly aren’t now.

Those donuts are so damn good. If you show up to the store when the light is on they’ll usually give you a donut fresh off the glazing machine while you wait in line to get your dozen pieces of heaven.
Live about 8 minutes from there if the lights favor us. Ardmore. Thanks for a pic, I have not seen before.
