I don’t know why I watched this. I knew the outcome. But there was something satisfying about watching Robert get blown out by Usain.
I remember during one of the recent olympics there was maybe a tweet or something suggesting there should always be a lane reserved for “local bar/pub guy who says he can do it better.” I really think that would make the olympics a thousand times more interesting. At minimum, I’d watch every heat that guy participated in.
Well, in fairness, Robert had only just run 100m otherwise he could have taken him.
Why didn’t Robert use the starting blocks?
I don’t know where I heard this so I’m not taking credit for it. it was a comedian I think who recommended that before every Olympic event normal people do the event to let all the viewers know how talented the real athletes are.
I call bullshit on this. The so called “Average Person” didn’t stop after about a quarter of the way through, huffing and holding their sides before puking like me, a true average person would do.
Robert should have stretched
I’d hardly say being the lead singer of The Cure makes you an average person.
There are two people who run on the paths near me, who run distance at a sprint pace, and it always blows my mind. One of the people, she pushes a stroller at that pace sometimes, such a beast.
Robert Smith, later in the bar: “I came in second, right after Usain Bolt!”
I would have preferred to watch Robert Smith of The Cure race against Usain Bolt
This would have been fun if it was a real person (like that baseball team who has a regular runner versus a proper athlete)
But this seemed like a 5 minute video when you could have simply said “Usain Bolt will run 100m 5.5 seconds quicker than the average person”
Robert was looking pretty good for the first .15 seconds. Could’ve gone either way for a little bit there.
The average person is overweight and never does cardio
Why wasn’t Robert eating a Big Mac while he was running
Bobby didn’t do too bad. Any of my coworkers would’ve blown an aorta trying to fifteen sec the hundred meters.
They set up a treadmill at the Chicago Marathon Expo for runners to try to run at the pace of Eliud Kipchoge, the guy who ran the marathon in less than two hours.
It’s really funny to watch above average runners unable to keep up the pace for any time at all. The average person would fall immediately.

You know, in addition to being overly long and loud and annoying, this video could use some pulsing strobe lights and random siren noises
I wanna see a horror film in which Usain Bolt becomes a slasher and begins killing people. It can have the tag line, “You can hide but you can’t run.”
The Dire Straits- Money for Nothing music video called and wants their computer graphics back
You mean Usain has literally trained his entire life to do this and he’s only 5.5 seconds faster than me?
I did Track & Field as a kid and I ran the 100 meters in 13 seconds when I was 16. Robert sucks.
The “average person” is actually an Asian man. To be more specific, it’d be a 28yr old Chinese man.
Average ~~person~~ *computer animation*.
Surprisingly my take away from this video was finding out that Bolt is 6″5.
It’s safe to say that every one of us average people would be shocked at how much faster, higher, stronger, quicker, Olympic athletes are compared to us. They are literally at the peak of human physical condition and then train obsessively for years. It’s insane. They are super humans.
Imagine if Usain bolt was a zombie in a video game people would complain his move speed was unrealistic
Is 15 seconds really the average? I ran faster than that back in school and have never been very fit.
15 seconds is an absolutely shameful 100m time
“[Beat the freeze](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7asw5Vd8lIY)” is a better comparison of average person vs bluechip athlete.
“Robert’s POV” had me dying!
