Born in 75. These were my childhood cartoons. These and GI Joe and Transformers.
I bought Season 1 when it first came out on DVD (I believe in my early 20’s) and it floored me how little they actually use their weapons and how cartoonish the violence was. Of course that makes sense as a cartoon for kids but it was interesting to revisit at that time.
After watching Mutant Mayhem in theatre, I looked this up on YouTube to show my 1.5 year old and enjoyed it much more in my mid-30’s than I did in my early 20’s. Nostalgia just hits harder when you have a kid of your own I guess.

My favorite cartoon as a child. The sheer amount of merchandise that was created to support this cartoon is second to no other animated series.
Who asked for this?. I was a kid when this was out and it was pretty awful. The OG comics in black and white and the first movie is pretty much peak TMNT
I remember getting each piece of this story in a vhs from im guessing Pizza Hut. I had the whole across 5-6 vhs tapes.
Dear lord, what did they do to the theme song?
Is this just the whole damn season? Sweet. I’ve never actually seen these. They’re a little before my time.
I love the slightly darker tone of these episodes so much.
