I was born in 93. I have severe PTSD of trying to play this game and never understanding how it worked
I totally wish I had this game back then…
The mid-90s was the MechWarrior era. It was also when the first MS Flight Sims came out, not to mention Sim City and Elite Frontiers. This was not even close to being a ‘pinnacle’ of anything.
Dang…I remember this. Do y’all remember that dinosaur 3D museum on Windows 95?
I had so many courses for links 386 Pro.
I mean, Doom was out in ’93. I think SimCity 2000 was not far off either. Nice trip down memory lane, though.
I have this, it’s just a rebranded Links 386, the first PC golf game I played was Links 98 but my favourite has got to be Neo Turf Masters.
I was definitely playing C&C Red Alert and Diablo in the mid 90s on PC… Golf sims were already boring to me. I even preferred the gorilla banana toss game over this one.
Woah! Forgot about this. Amazing when your brain has a memory you would never have organically recalled, but it’s in there somewhere, waiting
Links 386 was better
I forgot all about this! Thanks for the trip down memory lane of gaming!
This reminds me of those Catz and Dogz games where they would hang out on your desktop.
Thanks for making me feel old. I forgot all about this. This reminds me of the period in time that one would have to use encyclopedia britannica cd rom because the internet wasn’t a thing.
Mmm yes, this and Chris Sawyer plate-layer games hit the spot.
I think he… hit the tree, Jim.
Thank you for the memory wow totally forgot this game. I remember it taking me a bit to learn how to play it because I was super young. This is awesome! What was the name of this again?
It’s in the saaaaaannnndddddd
My brother and I still play Links386 via Parsec on occasion.
Lol the duck sound of you shanked it
You’re dancing!
Wow. I forgot this game existed
I can still hear the fly-by music.
We got an Acer 75 mhz PC in 1993 or 1994. Back then computers came with giant piles of software. One of the games it came with was PGA Tour 486 for DOS and I played it a bunch. I was 11 years old at the time (I got older) and a mix of me never seeing this kind of stuff before and not being brutally depressed and suicidal made it absolutely amazing to see.
Here’s a playthrough somebody made. https://youtu.be/R3-3SK7h8RQ
Something to remember is this was new stuff we had never seen before. It is primitive now but jaw dropping back then.
“it’s in the rough”
Got a hold of that one
Be the ball!
Awww it’s in the deep stuff
